The Sarasota & Venice Area
Searching for houses for sale in Sarasota, FL? Osprey is just a few short minutes away.
When it comes to location, Edgewater at Hidden Bay offers the best of both worlds. The waterfront condominium development is just 10 miles south of downtown Sarasota and 8 miles north of historic Venice, Florida. This area is very rich in history and in fact, the very shoreline of this development was inhabited by indigenous tribes over 5000 years ago. Nearby, you have grocery stores, upscale restaurants, boat marinas, a state park, area beaches, a bicycle trail, specialty shops and service professionals.
The Sarasota area is very unique as it’s also known as the Cultural Capital of Florida. The fact is, we have more of the Arts here than in any other city in the State. In the early 1900’s, circus magnate John Ringling made sure of that by bringing his vast collection of rare paintings and collectable art to Sarasota and later his estate acquired the interior of an 18th century theatre in Asolo, Italy and had it shipped to Sarasota where it is still in use today. Sarasota is fortunate to have its own opera house, ballet, symphony orchestra and an abundance of live theatres, stage performances and art galleries.
The coastal area is also serviced by two airports, which includes Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. It’s also comforting to know that Sarasota is only a one-hour drive to Tampa and Fort Myers, Florida as well as 2.5 hours to Orlando and 3.5 hours to Miami.
